Learning Extravaganza has a one-year contract position open for an experienced pop-up reality producer to lead and manage a series of learning events for the 2025 production season with possible contract renewal. The position is a full-time leadership and design role with responsibilities for planning a series of learning pop-ups in conjunction with local media arts developers, game designers, community organizations, and cultural agencies.
Portfolio due by March 5, 2025. Selected candidates will then be invited to submit a full application.
Create dynamic, pervasive events that transform the Tucson community into a learning game board and creation space that engrosses young people in developing skills and knowledge.
Configure multiple media (including, but not limited to augmented reality, gaming, social media, film, audio, and text) to create curriculum-based immersive story worlds consisting of content, ideas, puzzles and quests.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with local schools and learning centers as well as with summer camps, after-school programs, and membership organizations such as museums and galleries.
Minimum three years’ experience creating distinctive pop-up reality productions that cultivate flow states (experience in educational reality productions preferred, though concert designers and rave promoters are welcome to apply)
Background in technical media design or other field that requires high amounts of both creativity and technical ability
Experience developing and maintaining relationships with a distributed network of contributors or partners
Strong presence as a welcoming, courteous, and friendly host who relates well to diverse organizations’ staff and to students
Highly motivated professional with a positive attitude, proven experience in providing excellent customer service, and effective problem-solving skills
Understanding of neuroscience and game strategy a plus
